Uni-Y Singapore wins ASEAN youth award


In recognition of its strong community service culture which aims to inspire and provide opportunities for youths to be actively involved in the community, Uni-Y Singapore was awarded the Ten Accomplished Youth Organisations (TAYO) ASEAN Award on 9 October 2014 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The awards ceremony was graced by The Honourable Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports for Brunei who presented the awards.

Y STARS steal hearts with dazzling performance at YMCA fundraiser


With sparkling energy and glittering smiles, the Y STARS (YMCA Special Talents, Arts and Recreation Society) dazzled and charmed their way into the hearts of guests at the YMCA Giving Gala 2014 held on 8 October 2014 at the Fullerton Hotel. Y STARS comprises youths with Down’s Syndrome who possess unique gifts in dance and performing arts. Their innate passion for their craft shine through in their performances, bringing smiles and touching the hearts of others. The Y STARS have actively participated and performed in various YMCA events including the annual YMCA Proms @ the Park.

YMCA of Singapore receives $15,000 donation from PCF


YMCA of Singapore conveys its heartfelt appreciation for the PAP Community Foundation's (PCF) donation of $15,000 on 28 September 2014. Health Minister Mr Gan Kim Yong presented the cheque to Mr Stephen Loh, President, YMCA of Singapore, in a ceremony held at Universal Studios, Resorts World Sentosa. The ceremony  was witnessed by Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
